This area of the site is included to give some hints and tips about using Apple’s iWeb software to design your web site.
NOT that we’re claiming to be definitive experts on the subject, but we use the software for this (and other) sites, and over time have found ways to achieve things that Apple clearly didn’t intend to be used and overcome some of the software’s shortcomings.
Why use it in the first place?
No-one is going to pretend that iWeb is a replacement for mainstream packages such as Dreamweaver or Go Live. Purists will usually denounce iWeb as amateurish and not much more than a ‘toy’, but is that really a fair assessment? - We think not.
iWeb ‘fits’ a niche in the market for people who have no desire or intention to become a web designer but need an easy to use / intuitive tool that gets a site up and running relatively quickly. In this respect iWeb does achieve its objectives.
Once you’ve put a few simple sites together you will in all likelihood, begin to look for ways to add things that iWeb doesn’t accommodate and / or change the appearance of certain aspects that are ‘dictated’ within the package (like hyperlink colours).
That’s what this section in AppleMacFix is all about.......
